Fuel for the Economy

I tried to not go off on this topic, but it just keeps coming back to haunt my brain. I like the whole concept of this picture and, I would wager that GW would too. It has 2 of his most favorite things in the world { horses & fuel} in one picture.
Going back to the economy.. A lot of people have said to me .." I can't understand why gas prices are so high ?" Well, in order for big oil companies to turn unrealistic profits, they need to make their money somewhere. That's where we fit in. These same people also have posed the question " I don't know why people aren't buying things".
ummm... Hello? Here's the reality of the current economic situation in the United States. Follow along,, this is gonna go pretty fast.
Gas 2 1/2 years ago cost us about $1.65 per gallon. It now is costing on average about $2.65. that's a one dollar per gallon increase. The average person might use about 80 gallons per month. If you have 2 adults in your household, your gas cost has now increased by $1920.00 per year. { I'm using these numbers as an average. Please don't think there was a scientific formula to it} . Ok,, that $1920.00 that is now spent on gas had to come from somewhere. Some people took it from their " eating out " fund,, others used funds from their Christmas Clubs.. Bottom line is that money that people use to spend on other items is now being spent on gas, so that Exxon/Mobile can turn in higher gross profits then most small oil producing nations have in their GNP.

Lets take that $1920.00 one step further { I love math,,, can ya tell? } Look around your neighborhood or development.. Think you could count 100 houses ? Probably. Now take the $1920.00 & multiply by 100. Total comes to $192,000.. about the cost of a medium sized comfortable house here on the outskirts of Reading. That's just the "extra increase" money you and your 99 neighbors are paying to fuel up your cars in a year. Think about your town,, closest large city? All that extra gas money would have been spent on dining out,,, maybe buying things at the Wal-Mart or corner store. Pretty friggen easy to see how the gas situation is screwing up the economy for the average person.. Don't ya think?
I'll end with one final "bonus picture " that I found by mistake. Says a little about someone's background. Post in the comment area who you think it might be.. LMAO..
