Sunday Morning Rant

Sundays are always a good day to kick back ,relax , and think about old times.Back when life was a little more simple. When mortgages, car payments and college tuition were things of the future. Back when Gerald Ford was "President" and Jimmy Carter was getting ready to make his move to the White House.
Any idea who these two fellows are? The picture is from 1975. Both these gentlemen were on the political scene already planning for the future. Richard Nixon had gotten caught a few years prior to this which probably screwed up their plans, but heck,, they had plenty of time to get it together for the future. Lets move forward to 2006.
Here we see the same two men , but now, they run
the country with strings. Took almost a quarter century, but they got there.
Donald Rumsfeld , the current Secretary of Defense, also served in this capacity during the Ford administration. That would make him the first Secretary of Defense to serve for two different presidents who were both " selected" by means other then popular vote or the standard electoral college . Gee.. See a pattern here? { Please note, the above connection was nowhere on the internet.. I connected all the dots myself, so,, if the mainstream media wants this, please quote my blog as the original source... LMFAO } .
As for President Cheney, well,, he hasn't changed much since back in the day. Look close at the two pictures & you'll see the same "smirk" ,, that all knowing grin. Don't get me wrong, Dick Cheney is a very intelligent man. He just has no political morals . { as if politics have morals.}
Ok, Time to move on. The Sunday sun is calling me to do actual "work", so we'll end here. Perhaps we can take another trip down memory lane when time allows. History always tends to repeat itself. Its the reporters of history who usually end up screwing that part up.

i really enjoy your blog not only for the political commentary, but also for the wonderfully relaxed and conversational tone of the writing itself.
i'm about the least politically conscious person you'd find on the planet, but this site (with its connect the dots attitude) has made me think "outside the box".
