Duct Tape

I started to go in one direction tonight, then regrouped, started another, then totally crash landed. As George Bush shows us in the following pictures, there are many uses for duct tape besides warding off terrorist attacks. Next time, I'm going to take Uncle George's advice from this first picture and prevent myself from saying that which others do not wish to hear. It's a shame that GW doesn't try this in real life.
Have a great rest of the evening folks.. I'm gonna go stock up on duct tape.

Amish Road Rage and the Heat...

I already know. "What the hell was he thinking when he posted this blog?" Well, to tell the truth, I'm not really thinking. I spent most of the day in an office where the a.c. got the temperature to a lovely 82 degrees , { in the shade that is.} . The time not spent in the office , was spent seeing a few customers ,which involved getting in a 98.6 degree car, gripping a 113 degree steering wheel, then navigating around all the idiots on the road while the cars AC knocked my gas mileage back to below 20mpg. Then get out to see the customers { usually involved walking in their hot warehouses} , then get back in the car which had warmed back up nicely. Rinse, Repeat.. You get the picture. Following is a typical road rage scene from Lancaster county .
Realistically, the Amish are a peace loving group who I don't think would ever react like that little cartoon.{ but ya never know}.

I was going to try to write more tonight, but I'd be forcing it if I did, and my writing is bad enough without forcing it.Just gonna post two more pictures, then call it a night. BTW, be sure you buy the books I mentioned yesterday. Much more entertaining then this blog of mine.
Have a great evening unless you choose to do otherwise.

Real Writing.

Occasionally, in my spare time, I actually read literature. { I know, time to pass out, isn't it.?}
My own intrests vary from the obscure to the absurd, and many different degrees of the above.
About 6 years ago, I met a guy at work who "wrote" on the side. I've met a few people before who wrote and I shrugged at the topic. Then I asked him what he wrote, and he said "poetry" . Now, I've read poetry in english lit class & I consider a lot of the music I listen to to be poetic. Heck, I even belong to a couple on-line poetry thingies,, but I had never met a poet who had actually been published, in book form.
John Yamrus has a unique style of poetry that tends to draw people in to the topic. After reading all the available material, I've become a huge fan. Within the last 12 months, John has had 1 book break in on the Barns & Nobel book chart, that being " One Step at a Time" , which is a great collection of poems. This book is available either from BarnsandNoble.com,

One Step at a Time
or from Water row books { ask for the autographed copies }..

John also has a new book thats just hitting the stores now , called "Blue Collar" , which again is a collection of his newest works. I know i'm not giving this enough justice, but heck,, comming from an illiterate person like myself, this is the best review I can give. I guess what I'm saying is that his material is worth the time to get and enjoy. Blue Collar is also available from Barnsandnobel.com

Blue Collar: New Poems
. They are currently booking & shipping internet orders, so I know you'll thank me later when you have had the opportunity to enjoy this work.
If you are in the mood, stop by his site at {Click here for John's Site}

Ok,, enough literature and normal stuff.. I'll end here. Just do me a favor and buy the book. Today. Now. Tell a friend. Buy one for your spouse. If you know me , just ask & i'll see if John would be willing to sign your purchased copy/copies . { for a fee of course} LMFAO.. J/k.......
Have a great rest of the holiday .

Richard Cheney

Ok, so I'm stuck on this topic. Lets just call it a weekend at Dicks.. LOL.. Actually, he really hasn't done much in the last few weeks other then to avoid the press . I stumbled across this picture comparing him and " the penguin" . Scary thought actually.. And very similar characteristics. Uncle Dick might just have a career after politics.
I'll get back to this one later. Coffee and food sounds like a good idea right now. You'll just have to wait a bit.. LMAO..

Dick Cheney , again

I couldn't resist,but I can't say that I tried real hard . Dick Cheney's the type of guy I just need to bring up at least 2 or 3 times per month. Not that there aren't other people in the government that draw attention to themselves..Hell,, just read the newspaper instead of my rambles here.. It just that Dick don't care what people think. I envy that. I don't want it, but I do envy it. The ability to do whatever you feel is best for yourself or your cause without even a tinge of guilt. That's gotta be great. Selfishness to the 10th degree. Fucking arrogant bastard. I envy him...

I guess we're all wondering if Uncle Dick is going to run for the top position , as opposed to puppet master. Given the state of the economy, and that fact that the "War For Gas" isn't going as planned, I would toss a negative vote out for that querry. However, never underestimate a Republican { trust me, I am one, at least on paper, so keep that in mind-- LMFAO} President Dick would be better then President Jeb...
On that note, I thought it might be good to remind us all of a post I did about 2 months ago, regarding Uncle Dick & his "terror alert" chart.. Lets look and see where that chart is today.. Dick looks suprised too.. The current terror level for the USA , as of 5:12 pm , today is,,,, Hawks Automatic Terrorist Level Indicator

Awww--- i'm making you look for yourself.. Damn... LMAO.

Have a great day, unless you choose to do otherwise..

It's Friday

I'm burned out today. I think everyone gets to this point eventually its just that I'm not use to getting there so often. As long as it don't carry over into the weekend, then I'm ok w/ it.
Being that its Memorial Day weekend, I thought it would be cool to remember the reason that the " War on Terror" , as GW so calls it, began. For me, pictures of the trade center from before the attack key my memories. I'll just put em here .. Remember to keep all the folks who died that day as well as all who have died since fighting this war, in your thoughts and prayers.

Just the Facts..

Today is a day for the raw facts and numbers. Things that we don't always look at, or enjoy looking at. So,, take a deep breath .. Here we go.
  • United States casualties in Iraq to date: 2,442
  • U.S. Wounded in Iraq to date: 17,774

  • Cost of the "War for Gas" so far. $283,462,500,241.00
Sources for above items.......... US casualties

Cost of this War .. { this one is really cool.. You'll see a running total for the war, & you can translate it to determine what else the money could have brought}

According to George W. Bush, this war was over in April of 2003.. Yet the deaths have kept rising, the wounded keep getting hurt, and he & Mr Cheney keep making money from it..
Bottom line is this question. What do we want to accomplish in Iraq?? So far, we have only seen negatives. Is there a plan for some positive things here? Can anyone honestly answer that question?

GW and Sex

Ok, I refuse to take credit for this topic today. I considered it before, but couldn't find a tame way to do it. Sex and politics don't really go together, unless you are Bill Clinton, or 96.2% of the other politicians out there. Sex and GW just don't go together in the same sentence. But since the person who planted this damn seed in my head today didn't realize what they were doing , { or maybe they did and it amused them} , I now had that topic on the brain . So here we go.....

George W. has/had a plan to help control teen pregnancy and teen age sex. Wanna know what that plan is ? Its to teach kids to abstain... LMFAO ... GW has taken abstinence based sex education to new levels. In 2005 , George took a federal program that use to cost about 90 million dollars per year & expanded it to over 260 million dollars. To teach boys and girls to not have sex. Screw teaching them to use protection, birth control and all that other evil stuff. Just don't have sex ... Period... What a fucking idiot.. Whats worse is that he changed a lot of the guide lines to recieve this funding. A majority of the $260,000,000 now goes directly to private groups so that they can get the word out that sex is a bad thing and abstinence is the only/best solution. Perhaps we need to rethink this little moralistic strategy that our puppet president has created. { keep in mind that he increased this funding at the same time he decreased veterens benefits. }
Sex education is about teaching our young about safe sex.. Using condoms, birth control, all of the available information .. Its not about promoting one groups position over everyone else. Sex is a natural thing. Lets not try to be un-natural about it. Unsafe sex leads to teenage pregnancy as well as STD's . Morality is best to be taught and funded by the private sector,not our Government.

I gotta say this sign/slogan is one of my favorites. Maybe if GW got some , he'd be a more down to earth president. Or if he just got laid on a regular basis, he'd be happier.
Hummmm,, Laura? You listening? Invest in our nation's future..... Got a blue dress instead of that yellow one?
Woops,, I didn't just say that , did I?

Hawk :}

P.S. Thanks for the train of thought Kel... Payback is a bitch,, you realize this... :}~

Sunday 5/21/06

Sunday morning rants are fun, unless you just happen to look at pictures like this, and wonder why the hell these two guys are always smiling. OOhhh,, thats right-- Haliburton, corporate contributions, money for nothing.. Hell,, I'd smile all the time too..
I was in the mood to bash Mr Cheney today, so, here's the material. Hope it's enjoyable. Have a great day.

Dog Day Saturday

I liked the format, or lack thereof yesterday. Blogging is supposed to be thoughts and ideas, and my thoughts and ideas were getting a bit too structured. Too much structure, at least for me, leads to a burnout of creativity. Don't worry folks, there will be plenty of time for structured rants, it's just not going to happen every day. Hell,, just by typing this, I can feel a load being lifted from my mind. I was trying way too hard.. Its time to go back to the basics.
Maybe I'll post more later, but for now, I think these pictures of President GW Bush dropping, then kissing his dog Barney are amusing enough. Have a great day, unless you choose to do otherwise :)

Friday Free- fourm

Steak on the grill. And nothing on the brain. LMAO.. I'll just freefourm tonight & see what comes up. Post a picture, go watch TV or surf.. Post another picture,, write a bit more. Lets see what I happen to spit out there tonight. It will be a work in progress.. Hummmm... What picture to post.. Lets see.... BRB.
( 90 second lapse ) OK back,
and I found one of Uncle Rummy on the hard drive. I haven't picked on him in awhile.
Ok.. I'll be back later
Hawk :}

OK, I gave it until 10:00 & I didn't have any more new thoughts to add to this.
An old thought did cross my mind. A scary thought at that. I see Rummy smiling up a storm in this picture.. He & the rest of the crew seem happy about being in Iraq. I guess it helps to feed their retirement funds.. Who the fuck knows. What I don't , & haven't seen is any regret on this administrations part regarding the war dead.. Most of whome were kids with their whole lives ahead of them. The scary thought is that I have a 17 yr old son.. I don't want this government of ours risking his life in the "War for Gas" .. That thought genuinely scares me.

The N.S.A and Michael Hayden

Did you know that you might be a terrorist? The "National Security Agency" , which was headed by Mr {General} Michael Hayden from 1999-2005, thinks so. Mr Hayden, who is now GW's leading nominee to head the CIA, felt it necessary to design a plan to listen in on American's phone conversations w/ people overseas without first obtaining a warrant. {Damn, that violates a few laws, don't it? } Ahh well,, terrorists are among us & Big Brother ,, ummm,, GW and friends, need to protect us. Besides, George And Mike both say it is perfectly legal to do this, & they wouldnt lie.....
Now, Mr Hayden also started another program while he was director of the "N.S.A.". This one asked the phone companies to turn over the phone records of millions of everyday Americans to "Big Brother". And guess what? Three out of four of them did it. AT & T, Verizon , and Bell South just turned the damn phone call records of millions of us over to the Government. Without a warrant... without probabal cause.. The problem here is on many levels. Are we all terrorists? I don't think so. Then why are all the records needed? Is "Big Brother" creating a data base ? Hummmm.. can't answer that, can you? Whats to stop the government from creating a list of people who may have called a certain phone number. Perhaps it's a liberal radical anti republican group's phone. Now Big Brother has a list of the people who might be in agreement w/ that group.. Amusing the possibilities to this scenero, isn't it? Keep in mind , these records were not supposed to be released .. Period....Not without a warrant.
"The Electronic Communications Privacy Act of 1986 was passed when cell phones and the Internet were emerging as new forms of communication. Section 2702 of the law says these providers of "electronic communications . . .shall not knowingly divulge a record or other information pertaining to a subscriber or customer . . . to any government entity."

Need I say more?

GW seems to be trying to get around these phone "thingies" by just saying "Everything we've done has been perfectly legal" . Ummm,,, Asshole ? George ? Start reading the constitution and stop spinning it. We don't need another Bush interpretation of what is right and wrong. And we dont need a military guy like Hayden running the CIA.

This is turning into a regular thing. Mondays just aren't my most creative days, so I'll resort to a few humorous shots & let them do the talking. I think I'll talk about how we are all potential terrorists tomorrow. {at least according to GW and his phone record policy . :}

P.S. I had another picture up here that I had hesitated using for the last month or so, just because.. If you'll take the time to read the comments made to this post , you might understand why I hesitated using it, and why, after reading the comment, I decided to take it out. Happy Mothers Day...

Hopefully that just reminded those who forgot, to call their moms and wish them a happy day.

GW's Mommy.

About 8 months ago, during the New Orleans crisis, George W Bush's Mom , the former first lady and wife of George HW Bush, paid a humanitarian visit to the Houston Astrodome along with numerous other notables. Many of the former New Orleans residents had been evacuated to this facility due to the sheer number of people forced to relocate from their former home and state. It wasn't the best situation to be in, but it was dry and somewhat safe.
Barbara, when asked to comment on the situation by a news reporter, proceeded to say that the people were very grateful to have a safe place to stay. "Then she added: "What I’m hearing which is sort of scary is they all want to stay in Texas. Everyone is so overwhelmed by the hospitality. "And so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway, so this--this (she chuckles slightly) is working very well for them."

Woops.. gotta love moms... tell it like it is.. even if its not what your son, the President of The United States, wants you to say. LOL ..........

Oh yea, the youngest Barbara Bush, GW's daughter, was slightly
amused by her Grandmother's comment, but wouldn't add fuel to the fire.. Smart girl.. I'm sure she takes after her own mother .

Nothing in Particular.

Normally, on a day like today, I can write up a storm, but for some reason, I just can't put it all together right now. Plenty of stuff to write about, its just that I can't keep myself focused in on one topic long enough to put something here. My solution , as it has been in the past, will be to post 1 or 2 pictures , then go surf the web for fun. Hopefully i'll be back to normal ranting tomorrow. We can't let those politicians think they are actually safe.

President Jeb?

ROFLMFAO -- I promise to finish this later today, but I just happened to read a GW quote during lunch and had to start this one. Georgie was quoted as saying, " Jeb would be a very strong President & I hope he runs" . So, this picture of the 3 of them could be an actual portrat of 3 "presidents"? LMFAO--- God help us all...

A Different Perspective

Having lived in the Reading Pa area for as long as I have, you run into your fair share of Amish people . One of the things that most Amish don't have to deal with , at least on the same level as you or I, is the ever rising cost of gasoline. Using a horse and buggy can have its advantages, one of which is the lack of using fossil fuels. I found some amusing pictures in various searches that I thought might be fun to share. This guy seems to be copying the idea, but just can't seem to let go of the modern {?} comforts of a vehicle interior. Eventually, with the way that gas has been rising, we might all be forced into alternative vehicles to be able to afford any type of mobility. That in itself might lead to a re-enactment of the final picture that I'm posting here, the one that actually steered my mind this direction tonight. The one that I hesitated at first posting , then decided that I couldn't not post it. LMAO....
Have a Great evening.

Republican Fund Raising Part 2

About 2 weeks ago, I announced a brand new Republican fund raising campaign that President Cheney had been working on."Hunt Quail with Dick". I'll provide the link to the story for those of you who may have missed it. In a nutshell, President Cheney was going to take fellow republicans quail hunting in Texas, for a fee. { Republican Fund Raising Part 1}
Dick, along w/ his sidekick GW , headed down to Texas the other day just so they could do a test run of this great plan. GW and Dick, shown here as they prepare to head out for the hunt, decided to allow a few photographers tag along just so they could get some free publicity.
Mr Cheney was in a humorous mood for the occasion, sporting a great new shirt that he plans to use at the next presidential press conference. Mr Bush just smiled for the camera.

GW is shown in the photo below as President Cheney was " joking around with his best buddy". After George got back from changing his pants, he and Dick had a great big laugh about the whole joke. Dick even let Georgie have a swing of his beer.
After the day was done and they had killed enough small defenseless animals, they headed back to the hunting camp to polish off the rest of the beer that Dick had brought along for the trip. A shirtless Mr Cheney then announced to the press Corp that this whole fundraising idea was his best scam since he was CEO of Halliburton & created numerous "front" companies in foreign countries to avoid paying millions in US taxes. Dick then belched,laughed, and said "I'm only kidding guys. Those front companies were created by Scooter Libby." Mr Libby, who happened to be in the camp at the time, denied all involvement and pointed his finger at Mr Bush.
At that point they all laughed and drank another beer. Politics as usual

Sunday Gas

Ok, so the title is a bit lacking, but heck, its Sunday and I am going to talk gas.
We keep hearing that the economy is on the fast track to recovery, yet prices at the pump keep rising. How the hell can the economy recover if all our spending is for fuel to keep our vehicles rolling? Give me a friggen break.
On Thursday, I was on my way back to the office when I decided to break down & buy gas.
In SE Pennsylvania, one of the best places to buy gas is Hess , or Hess Express. I know where they all are and figured it would be a safe bet. I pulled in, got out & started to pump my gas.{ please note, the picture above is NOT the local Hess, nor are the gas prices shown current}. For those who reside in NJ, pumping your own gas is a privilege, not a chore, so byte me.. LOL . Anyway, about 6 dollars & 2 gallons into this privilege, an employee came over & started telling me about the "Great deal on a 12" hoagie of my choice for only 5 bucks with a fill up" . Hummm,, ok,, he's just doing his job, so I won't attack him. I just looked at him, and replied " Tell ya what. You lower the gas prices by 50 cents per gallon & I'll buy that hoagie" . <<>> .. "Umm , I can't do that sir". I reply " I know, I was just kidding".
He then starts to tell me about the 1 dollar french fry deal if I buy the hoagie. LMAO. I reminded myself he was just a kid & doing his job.
The point of the above story is this. If gas was being sold at "realistic prices" , even last years price of $2.199/gallon , the 30 bucks that I put in the tank could have put the same amount of fuel in for me , plus purchased the hoagie , the frys, & even a large Mountain Dew. { gotta have the caffeine.} All our extra money that was being spent on fringe items is now being spent on fuel.And the big oil companies keep saying " Demand is high and costs are up, so we cant lower the prices substantially". Screw that. Lower the fucking prices to a level that won't destroy our economy. Fuel and gas are running our economy right now . And we need to take it back. I have an idea, but I'll post it later.. After I have a chance to let it ferment in my brain.. LMFAO.. Have a great day..
