A speaking hawk

Greetings & welcome. A brief introduction to what I am attempting to accomplish by putting this crap in a blog forum. Actually, if you've read this far, i've already accomplished more then I expected.
Hawk has always been a bit outspoken in regards to political situations & politics in general. Given that I control Hawk, that would make him a "liberal Republican". Hawk has taken on many different topics , but for the last 6 years , he has been an outspoken critic of our president select , Dick Cheney , & his right hand puppet , G.W. Bush. {forgive me if I got the titles wrong,, actions speak louder then words} .
I will attempt to present the current situations that were created by this administration & document the contradictions & outright lies that they spin in order to get their given agenda accomplished. I'll attempt to credit the actual sources where I can & I'd appreciate any attributable quotes that future readers of this fourm may wish to contribute. I reserve the right to edit any information provided to present the best possible spin that Hawk & the editors here feel will get the best reaction.
In closing, this forum may also be used as a launching pad for Hawk's future political career, be it in national , or world politics.

A Mission from God

We're 106 miles from Bagdad,
we've got another 4 years,
less then 35% of the country behind us,
And there were no WMD's........
Level IT!!

Gotta Love those DC boys. Always looking for a photo opportunity. I just wish they could get the lines right, especially since it is one of my favorite movies of ALL TIME..
Jake and Elwood do a much better pose in a shot from the origional below. No one will ever top the comic presence of John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd .
At least Jake and Elwood had an admirable mission from God.
Here's hoping that GW & Dick can pretend that they do for the next couple years.

The origional lines for those who are intrested were,,,

" We're 106 miles from Chicago,
We've got a full tank of gas,
half pack of cigarettes,
it's dark , and we're wearing
sunglasses .... HIT IT "

Gas Re-run

It amazes me how just when the peak summer trave time arrives, gas prices go up again .I know, threats of hurricanes and all that, but come on...I didn't see the price of ice go up when theres a threat of a heat wave... The real name for it is "price gouging" , but no one wants to come right out & say it... I wrote the following post a few monts back, but it fits my mood today.
Have a great day unless you chose to do otherwise.

Sunday Gas

Ok, so the title is a bit lacking, but heck, its Sunday and I am going to talk gas.
We keep hearing that the economy is on the fast track to recovery, yet prices at the pump keep rising. How the hell can the economy recover if all our spending is for fuel to keep our vehicles rolling? Give me a friggen break.
On Thursday, I was on my way back to the office when I decided to break down & buy gas.
In SE Pennsylvania, one of the best places to buy gas is Hess , or Hess Express. I know where they all are and figured it would be a safe bet. I pulled in, got out & started to pump my gas.{ please note, the picture above is NOT the local Hess, nor are the gas prices shown current}. For those who reside in NJ, pumping your own gas is a privilege, not a chore, so byte me.. LOL . Anyway, about 6 dollars & 2 gallons into this privilege, an employee came over & started telling me about the "Great deal on a 12" hoagie of my choice for only 5 bucks with a fill up" . Hummm,, ok,, he's just doing his job, so I won't attack him. I just looked at him, and replied " Tell ya what. You lower the gas prices by 50 cents per gallon & I'll buy that hoagie" . <<>> .. "Umm , I can't do that sir". I reply " I know, I was just kidding".
He then starts to tell me about the 1 dollar french fry deal if I buy the hoagie. LMAO. I reminded myself he was just a kid & doing his job.
The point of the above story is this. If gas was being sold at "realistic prices" , even last years price of $2.199/gallon , the 30 bucks that I put in the tank could have put the same amount of fuel in for me , plus purchased the hoagie , the frys, & even a large Mountain Dew. { gotta have the caffeine.} All our extra money that was being spent on fringe items is now being spent on fuel. And the big oil companies keep saying " Demand is high and costs are up, so we cant lower the prices substantially". Screw that. Lower the fucking prices to a level that won't destroy our economy. Fuel and gas are running our economy right now . And we need to take it back. I have an idea, but I'll post it later.. After I have a chance to let it ferment in my brain.. LMFAO.. Have a great day..
