National Security and Safety

As I was driving over the mountain on the way home this afternoon, enjoying the wind blowing in the windows, I recalled a picture I had come across a few months ago that I felt would be appropriate for this page. After searching my hard drive for a couple minutes, I found it .
Since the founding of the " Threat Level Meter " back in 2002 , I've taken it seriously maybe,, ummm once.. Its sorta like the "1-10 burning index scale" that is heard on the radio & during weather reports in the summertime as you prepare for a day at the beach or pool. You hear the announcments in the back of your mind,{sorta like your mother reminding you to always wear clean underwear} but common sense usually helps you to be prepared for the sun and your potential to burn. Think about it.. How is the common person , you or I , supposed to be prepared for a terrorist attack? I can understand the Government wanting to be prepared,, but by putting this in front of the public, it basically creats confusion and the possibility for mass hysteria.
Any clue what the current " level" for terrorist threat is right now folks? Humm,,, lets take a look & find out. I suggest putting the following link on your desktop and updating it on a hourly basis. This way you can be as prepared to ward off terrorism as President Cheney is in the above picture. For those who could not use the above link, or who were afraid to look,, well,, the level is ............... " Elevated", or code "Yellow" , Which in Government terms, means " Significant risk of terrorist attack" .. Hummm.. seems a bit vague Mr Cheney. Can someone please clarify that for me? The funny thing about the whole indicator thingie is that right now they are saying we are at a significant risk,, yet today is the 31st of the month.. the indicator hasn't been " updated" since the 27th.. LOL-- sorta like taking the temperature outside on a cold , rainy Tuesday, Then posting it as the current weather the following Saturday. Think about that analogy.. Then wait a few days & let me know... LMAO.. I might have more to say on this one later tonight.

Decisions and Small Changes.

Chicken wings with bbq sauce done on the grill on a springtime evening.. What more could you ask for? { well, perhaps one of those automatic typewriters like Bobbie used in "The Tommyknockers"}. Wings & typing just don't mix.. trust me.. Which leads me to this decision,, along w/ these changes.
a} no more trying to eat wings while typing in any way shape or form.
b} This blog needs a bit of structure to it.
c} WTF is he talking about?
Ok,, Lets clarify. I originally started this page to have a bit of fun at our president select's expense,, along w/ his faithful sidekick & anyone else in politics who chose to do something that I found to be worthwhile or entertaining. Since this is the first full week that i've actually tried doing this , I can see where my thoughts might tend to drift from this wonderfully entertaining topic & start in on other things .. { like chicken wings, & potato salad } . While this might be somewhat entertaining, it defeats the purpose of being an angry raptor with political aspirations and a hidden agenda. Therefore, starting now, at least for the most part, i'm going to attempt to keep this page politically based. That being said, I will take this opportunity to thank all those who have stopped by to visit . Hopefully, the content that has been presented didn't offend too much,, but if it did,, woops.. oh well... have a great day anyway,,, & dont forget to tell a friend.

Bloggers Block

Today was just one of those days that drain the brain completely of any creative juices that may have been present when it started. Not one of those slow drains either,, but a rather quick sucking of thoughts that had been gathered,, followed by a loud flushing noise as they left the mind. Hopefully, they will regroup tonight & present themselves at a future time.
I felt the above Doonesbury cartoon captures the moment rather well in describing the current situation in Iraq. Tis better to put a smile on for a bad situation than a frown.
My buddy GW did some Whitehouse staff changes today. Nothing earth shattering. Just putting another good ol boy from Daddies staff in place. I'll wait to see how much press is given to this before I decide if I want to chime in.
Ok. My mind isnt functioning up to speed, so i'll end here. Play nice Kids...

Dick Cheney

Somehow, I think if I spent the afternoon looking on the internet, I might end up with WAY too many pictures & very little other content. A picture is worth a thousand words.
Now, this picture in particular raises another question. If it had been someone besides the VP of the United States, & they had been drinking prior to an accidental shooting, wouldn't there have been a bit more of an investigation? I would think so, but, heck,, i've been wrong before.
One other question.. Ummm,, Mr Cheney? ... Dick? Why have you dropped completely off of the national radar? Where did you go dude? Decide that it was time to stay out of the spotlight? Or did you check into one of those clinics that helps people overcome their compulsions for shooting lawyers..
Well,, hopefully, our VP will be back in the limelight soon w/ his shotgun in tow. I mean ,, how else could we protect the residents of the state of Texas from those dangerous 2 winged , flying menaces that go by the name of "Quail" ..

Sunday Morning Rant

Sunday Morning ranting.

I stumbled across this picture while looking for other amusing images & I just couldn't resist putting it here. GW & Dick look so natural in this atmosphere. I'm surprised they have not tried to keep cattle at the whitehouse yet. { or at Dick's secret getaway location }.
In all actuality , these two really are not that dumb. { at least Dick isn't} They have succeeded in pushing our economy to the brink of one of the largest recessions we have seen in decades, & they, along with their friends , will be geting richer for years to come. Given the circumstances, I think perhaps all the people who voted for these 2 guys should be the ones posing in this picture.

Blog Revival

Well,, its been a while since i've posted anything & a lot has occured in the world. GW & Dick's "War for Gas" is still running full force. 201 more US deaths since my last post {see "globalsecurity.org"} . Gotta wonder why fuel prices are still rising?

Dick took a little time off from his presidential duties to shoot a Republican lawyer in the face while hunting. Just goes to show you that contributions to the party need to be increased in accordance with the favors being received.We are happy to note that it has been 42 days since the "accident", & President Cheney hasn't had the urge to shoot more people . {at least as far as we know..} One can only hope that this trend continues long enough for the quail season to begin again in Texas.
